Makoto Maruta is just a jobless guy spending a quiet Sunday with his sister, watching TV. He’s been trying to find work, but nothing has worked out so far. Then, right after his sister leaves the room, a summoning circle suddenly appears—and he gets pulled into another world.
He meets Astate, the Goddess of Space and Time. She checks his abilities and actually thinks he’s decent, but still insults him for not having any special “cheat skill.” When Makoto asks to be sent back, she calls it pointless and drops him in a forest alone.
While trying to survive, he meets Liana, the disguised Goddess of Prophecy. She gives him a power after he clears her secret test of character and sends him to a nearby town.
But the town is strange—it only has five residents. Makoto soon discovers the truth: it’s a zombie outbreak. Using only a big log as a weapon, he fights through the undead and saves the last survivors, including two sisters and two babies who are later named Raa and Rea. This is how his new life in the world of Manasthesia starts.
